Grade

I received 100/100 for this project! I know I am bragging, but I am proud of the grade I received and I put a lot of work into this project!

The instructors comments were as follows:

Wow! And Wow! Again! Yours is the first blogspot that has been a response to this Assignment. And what a good deal. You know what you’re doing with the blogosphere, as the design of the site is very satisfying. It’s easy to get around, it’s interesting with all of the various details, and the layout makes the information completely accessible in various ways. This is blogging at its finest. Your presentation gets at the heart of the U.S. Marine Corps Band’s program. You present all of the requests of the assignment instructions and present them in interesting and fulfilling ways. It’s obvious that you put a LOT of work into this blog, as there are many aspects of it that would require knowing how to do it, but even if you know how to do these things, such as adding the Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other links, that all takes a lot of time. I love the color choices, the animations, the videos (the DCI finals video shows how precise these musicians are, and how hard they must work to achieve this mastery), and your narrative describing among other things the history, uniform, performance schedule, and cultural happenings of the 1930s. That 1930s trends was another great video. Thank you for doing a blog. May I ask to be able to use your blog as an example for future classes? As I said, no one in over two years of this assignment, has done a blog. Having yours as an example might spur some to think about it at least and attempt it at best. Let me know. If you take it down in the future, that would be fine, as I would take it off the list that I am putting together of exemplary submissions for this Assignment, but if I could use it as an example I think students would love to see it. Thanks, again, and again, nice work! 100/100.

As part of the class we also shared our projects in the weekly forums with all our fellow classmates and their comments were as follows:

I was very intrigued by your choice on how to present your military group project this week. It is refreshing to see another band presentation other then the United States Air Force Band. I was amazed at how great your site presented the USMC Commandant's Band. Puts all our power point presentations to shame, lol. I really like how you added all the social networking sites on the side. I enjoyed the videos and pictures as well. Acutally, I enjoyed pretty much EVERYTHING about your site. I definitely have to admit, Marine uniforms are soo slick and clean. Is there extra credit on assignments because i think you went above and beyond. Amazing job!!!

You did a great job highlighting the great things the USMC band does. I think most of the class chose the Air Force band so I enjoyed learning something about another services band. Great job!

I absolutely love your presentation/blog on the USMC Commandant's Band. I love their uniforms and how you incorporated the same colors into the background. It made everything pop. Your picture choices were great. You could see the pride each member had to be in the band and in their uniform. The video was also great. I was amazed how they flowed into different formations like they were dancing to the music but were really marching or shuffling along to their next spot. It was a beautiful site to see. I would love to see them in person. My husband is in the Army but both of us come from the families in many branches of the military. My step dad and my husband's dad are both marines. There is always the pride from them when they were their uniforms at a marine corps ball on the marine corps birthday every year. It is always a blast to go. I am just so amazed by your blog. The hard work and pride you put into creating it really shows. Great Job. Thanks for sharing,

I really liked your blog. You did such a great job. I would have to say that it was nice to see a post about the us marine band. I grew up a Marine brat and my father was very proud of this time as a marine. I would love to take him to a concert sometime, I even forwarded him the link to your blog and he has not responded, but he is not very tech savvy. Great job and it is not very often that we see a project that is so enjoyable. This was probably my favorite.

Great presentation!! The blog was well written and very informative. You clearly did your research and did a great job relaying the information you gathered to us. The colors matched those of the band. That was a very nice touch. I also like how you incorporated a video of the band performing. I liked the video.
